Michael Vince - Michael Vince EP
2006

a cura di: Franco Mannarini

Are you completly satisfied about your last work?
I feel like this record is a good representation of who I was musically at the time I recorded it. Of course there are always things I would like to improve upon. That’s part of growing as a musician and an artist. I have no regrets. I am satisfied with this record (Michael Vince EP).

Wich are the most important ispiration for doing this new album?
Hmmm, well let me think… Audiences, I really dig seeing people groove to good music. The last band situation that I played in also really motivated me to finish this record and head out on my own. That band played a lot of cover material for some very broad audiences. While going through all of that, I began to really feel like I had something musical of my own to say. I wanted to begin connecting with my audiences 100%. This is something that can be very hard to do when you’re not playing your own original music.

Is There some others artists that you think important to reccomend us?
Let’s see, probably none you aren’t already aware of… Of course I love the classics, Jimi Hendrix, Grover Washington Jr., George Benson, Earth Wind & Fire etc. Corrine Bailey Rae is also really nice. I saw a live performance of hers on television the other night. It was refreshing.

Are there some others projects for the your future?
I am back in the studio now working on a full length album to follow up my current EP. I would like to release it by 2008. No promises though [laughs]. I am also working with some other independent artists as a guitarist and producer. I also know a couple of young female vocalists here at home with a lot of talent. I would like to see at least one of them put out some music in the New Year.

Is there something in your album that you don't like enough?
[laughs], I’ll never tell. No, not really... However, I would like to capture some different guitar tones on my next record that I wasn’t able to capture on this album. We’ll see how that goes, [laughs].
