Are you completly satisfied about your last work?
Must give a political answer to this question. An album gives an impression of an artist on the time of the recording - it's a 'snapshot'. It's been a while since we recorded it and in the meanwhile we've become better musicians / songwriters / performers. If we would record the album again, it would sound a bit different, I'm pretty sure about that... But we still listen to the album and we think it sounds really, really good. It's still a relevant album and we're very proud of it!
Wich are the most important ispiration for doing this new album?
When we wrote the songs, we listened to 'classical songwriters' a lot. Kings of Convenience, Simon and Garfunkel, the Beatles. But when we went to the studio, we listened to electronic- and popmusic a lot more, like phoenix, air and the postal service. The result is a nice mixture between singersongwriter and electronics
Is There some others artists that you think important to reccomend
us?
There's a lot of artists I can recommend. Artist I listen to right now are: Loney Dear (from Sweden), Daniel Benjamin (from Germany), Sufjan Stevens, Death Cab for Cutie and Brown Feather Sparrow (from the Netherlands)
Are there some others projects for the your future?
We're still busy touring: next week we'll do a tour in the Netherlands and Germany. After that we will be on tour with another band we both play in: The Spirit That Guides Us. After that we will focus on writing new material for our 2nd album. There's also a Japanese tour coming up (next year).
Is there something in your album that you don't like enough?
Not really, no. As I said before, there are things we might do differently when we recorded the songs again, but we like everything that's on the album. Maybe it would be more 'empty'. But on the other hand, all the ideas, little rhythm-patterns little harmonies that are hidden on the album, makes it nice to listen to the recordings over and over again. You don't get bored by it quickly. Sometimes, if we listen to the songs again, we hear elements/harmonies that we totally forgot about. "Oh... Did we play that on the recordings? I don't remember that at all!" - very funny when that happens... It's a great album. Everyone should buy it =)
