A.J. Jackson - Tall Walls
2005 Bluesound

a cura di: Franco Mannarini

Are you completely satisfied about your last work?
I am very happy with it. I think, for the most part, it captures the songs the way I intended for the listener to hear them. My original idea was to record the album the way I did, just vocals and guitar, but, I recorded two of the songs with bass and drum tracks, and after I listened to them, I went back to my original idea of just vocals and guitar. I'm happy that I recorded them the way I did.

Wich are the most important ispiration for doing this new album?
I'm inspired by the response that I've received from my music! I hadn't played live in quite a while, and I hadn't recorded the majority of my music that I've written over the past several years. I've had a lot on my mind and my heart, and I wanted to capture my feelings by producing this new album and by going on tour.

Is There some others artists that you think important to reccomend us?
Oh yeah, I really like a couple of guys out in California. This one artist, Ernie Halter, man, I heard his stuff, and it blew me away! I found him through myspace, his web address is: www.myspace.com/erniehalter. You won't be dissapointed! Also, I met a really talented singer/songwriter out of Santa Rosa, California named Jeff Fitzgerald, great guy with great tunes, his web address is: www.myspace.com/jefffitzgerald. Check them out!

Are there some others projects for the your future?
Always! I've started writing new music for my next CD, I'm really excited about my new songs, they're more soulful as a whole. I've played one of them live and received a very good response. I also have a few songs that didn't make this CD, just because I felt like "Tall Walls" was more of a concept album and they just didn't fit the overall effect I was going for. So, be looking for more new music soon!

Is there something in your album that you don't like enough?
As an artist, they're will always be little things here and there, but, you can either listen to the songs over and over and re-record the music until you think it's perfect, or at some point, you step back, listen closely, and enjoy the work you've created.
